Geauga County ESC recognizes this year's outstanding student and educator award winners
Congratulations to this years Geauga County ESC recipients of the Raymond A Horn Outstanding Student Award, Jamie Stanley and the Franklin B. Walter Outstanding Educator Award, Mandi Tovar.

Jamie Stanley has met academic requirements through Cardinal Local Schools and is in the GCESC Job Training Program. Jamie has made tremendous progress and truly enjoys coming to work everyday. Jamie's biggest strength is his bright personality. He loves to have fun while working and makes everyone around him smile. He makes friends everywhere he goes and even takes time to greet everyone he sees at work and the Carnal High School hallways. Jamie is moving on to adult services this summer and we know that any employer will welcome him for his eagerness to work and his amazing personality.

Mandi Tovar is a Job Training Coordinator for the Cardinal Job Traning Program which serves Cardinal, Chardon and Berkshire Schools. She has her Masters in Education in Rehabilitation Counseling from Kent State. Mandi teaches job training /soft skills to high school students with disabilities. Ms. Tovar is highly proactive in improving student performance within a Community Based Job Training Program and preparing them for competitive employment. She provides on-going communication with the families that result in an active relationship and works closely with them to transition students out of high school and into post secondary. Mandi displays a positive rapport with her students, job coaches and community employers. She ensures employer satisfaction and maintains relationships with community employers accross Geauga County.
