Carrington Youth Academy and the Carrington School Program

Carrington Youth Academy and the Carrington School Program are two separate agencies working together to help children.

Carrington Youth Academy is a children’s residential facility located at 2114 Noble Road, Cleveland, OH 44112.
The Carrington School Program refers to the educational program that is administered by the Geauga County Educational Service Center within the Carrington Youth Academy facility for the children who are placed at that facility.

Children receive instruction from licensed teachers in Math, Science, Social Studies and English Language Arts. Classroom instruction follows a hybrid model emphasizing direct instruction by teachers focused on State Standards and supplemented by on-line resources including Edmentum Courseware accessed by student Chromebooks.

Educational activities have included visiting the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage as a capstone to a block of instruction on the Holocaust centered around the Elie Wiezel book, “Night,” trips to the Great Lakes Science Center and field trips to visit local natural history sites.

What is a typical length of stay for students?

Children may remain at Carrington from a few days to a few months.
