The Governing Board of the Geauga County Educational Service Center will hold their 2019 regular board meetings at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, with the exception of July and November. There will be two meetings in June, instead of the one in July. The November meeting will be the first Thursday, to avoid meeting on Election Day. Meetings will be held at Auburn Career Technology Learning Center, 8221 Auburn Road, Painesville, Ohio 44077 Unless otherwise stated.

Special Board meeting- A special meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. The purpose of this special meeting is to rescind a resolution passed on July 23, 2019 proposing a territorial transfer, to consider the approval of the first resolution of the territorial transfer from Newbury Local School District to West Geauga Local School District and to consider the approval of legal services. Due to conflicting legal opinions regarding the timeline of Territory Transfer, and in the interest of clarity and transparency related to that timeline, the Geauga County Educational Service Center Governing Board is re-issuing the resolution proposing the transfer of the Newbury Local School District territory to the West Geauga Local School District. Doing so involves rescinding its resolution dated July 23, 2019, and placing a new resolution on the August 20, 2019 special board meeting agenda at 6:30 p.m. at the Auburn Technology Learning Center in room 106. This action of the Board will erase any confusion related to the territory transfer timeline and associated activities.

In accordance with R.C. 121.22, R.C. 3313.16, and applicable laws, the Governing Board Presidents of the Geauga County Educational Service Center Governing Board (“Geauga ESC”) and Lake County Educational Service Center Governing Board (“Lake ESC”) hereby serve the instant amended written notice that a joint special meeting of the Geauga ESC and Lake ESC is hereby called for Tuesday, October 15, 2019, 6:00 p.m., at the Auburn Career Center Technology Learning Center, which is located at 8221 Auburn Road Concord Township, Ohio 44077. The purposes of this special meeting are, in no particular order, as follows: (1) considering a settlement document by and between the Geauga ESC, Geauga Board Employees Association (“Association”), and one or more public employees; (2) considering a joint resolution pursuant to R.C. 3311.053 and applicable laws, as well as the collective bargaining agreement ratified by the Geauga ESC and Association; (3) considering the appointment, employment, promotion, and/or compensation of public employees and officials; (4) reviewing and approving negotiations with public employees concerning their compensation and other terms and conditions of their employment; and (5) considering a purchase agreement by and between the Lake ESC and a vendor. The Geauga ESC and Lake ESC may recess into executive sessions pursuant to R.C. 121.22 and applicable laws.
